WASHINGTON — Police responded to reports of a gunman at Comet Ping Pong restaurant in Northeast on Sunday.
There were no reports of shots fired or any injuries. D.C. police have taken a person into custody.
The popular restaurant known for its pizza was the target of a fake news story that went viral prior to the election claiming the pizza shop was home to child-trafficking, and that there was a connection between the pizzeria and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
Police have blocked off a portion of Connecticut Avenue as they investigate the scene.
