Police: 2 More Cases of Man Entering Apartments in College Park

WASHINGTON — After a sexual assault was reported over the weekend in College Park, Maryland, police are looking into two additional cases in the same area.

In each case, a suspect entered apartments in the 4500 block of Guilford Road either through an unlocked window or door, Prince George’s County police said. None of the cases happened at the same address.

It’s still unclear whether the same suspect is connected to all the cases, police said.

In the first case, police said around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a suspect entered an apartment through an unlocked window. He “inappropriately touched” a woman inside the home, police said. She screamed and the suspect ran out.

On the same night, in an incident that wasn’t initially reported, a woman told police a man opened an unlocked window and peered into her apartment shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. She screamed and he fled.

Earlier in the month, around 1 a.m. on Sept. 9, police said a man entered an apartment through an unlocked door. A woman, who was a resident, saw the suspect standing in the doorway and screamed. He took off.

Police said they are increasing patrols in the area. They are reminding residents to keep doors and windows locked.

Anyone who has more information about this investigation can contact Prince George’s County police.
