NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A mother who intimidated witnesses in her son’s murder case by posting their personal information on Facebook won’t have to spend time behind bars.
WAVY-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2eANTKK) Gloria Williams entered an Alford plea Monday in Norfolk to an obstruction of justice charge, not admitting guilt but acknowledging enough evidence for a conviction.
She was given a three-year prison sentence, all of which was suspended, pending good behavior.
Police said Williams tried to intimidate witnesses in the trial of Kareem Turner, who is serving a 42-year sentence for the 2014 shooting death of Dajuan Glover.
Prosecutors said Williams had posts on her Facebook page with the personal information and photos of three witnesses who testified against her son.
Another relative of Turner, Rashi Webb, pleaded guilty to obstruction charges in July.
