LOUISA, Va. (AP) — A motorcyclist from Ashland has died in a single-vehicle crash in Louisa County.
Virginia State Police tell news outlets that 47-year-old Steven R. Widener died at the scene Sunday night.
Troopers say Widener was traveling west on Jefferson Highway when he attempted to pass a vehicle, veered off the road and hit several fence posts. Widener was thrown off the motorcycle and died at the scene.
Police say Widener was wearing a helmet during the incident.
