OLNEY, Md. (AP) — The Montgomery County Council is going on the road.
The council is meeting in Olney on Wednesday evening. Each year the council holds town hall meetings throughout the county in its efforts to find out what issues most concern residents. The council regularly meets in Rockville, the county seat of Montgomery County.
The 8 p.m. meeting will be held at Rosa Parks Middle School.
Residents will be encouraged to ask questions on any issue. Among the issues that are likely to be discussed are the changes expected of Montgomery County Public Schools after the council voted to add $87 million above the minimum state requirements to the school system’s budget for the upcoming year and asked the Board of Education to make targeted improvements in programing.
