Montgomery Co. Officer Struck by Car on I-270 Shoulder

WASHINGTON — A Montgomery County police officer is in the hospital after being struck by a car on Interstate 270 in Clarksburg, Maryland, early Thursday.

Just after midnight, Montgomery County police started chasing a car near Montgomery Village Avenue.

Police say the chase continued on to northbound I-270.

Montgomery County Police say the two people in the car got out before Exit 18/Clarksburg Road and ran off.

While searching the area for the two suspects, an officer was struck by a car on the right shoulder in the southbound lanes.

The officer sustained nonlife threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Police are still looking for the two suspects.
