‘Midget Paintball Manhunt' in Md. Draws Criticism for 2nd Year

WHALEYVILLE, Md. (AP) — A Maryland bar and grill advertising a “Midget Paintball Manhunt” event has sparked controversy.

The Daily Times reports the Oasis Bar ‘N’ Grill in Whaleyville added the event to its Thursday lineup for bike week. The event is not officially associated with Delmarva Bike Week or OC BikeFest, which begins Thursday in Ocean City.

The event has drawn the ire of organizations such as the Little People of America’s District 3 Ches-Del-Bays chapter, and an online petition has garnered 486 signatures as of Tuesday.

Bar owner Bobby Riccio says the entertainers are thankful for venues to perform at and the event has been brought back at their request.

Last year the bar canceled a portion of a similar event after U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania threatened not to attend.
