Md. Man Admits to Strangling Girlfriend, Dumping Body in Dumpster

WASHINGTON — The boyfriend of a Maryland woman who disappeared last month has confessed to killing her and placing her body in a dumpster, Prince George’s County police said.

Michael Proctor, 35, of Oxon Hill, is charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault for the death of 41-year-old Turkessa Paige.

According to charging documents, Proctor said he and Paige got into an argument at his Wheeler Road apartment on April 13, and he strangled Paige’s neck with his hands.

He then placed her body in a large storage bin and used a dolly to wheel it out to his car.

He told investigators that he left her body in a dumpster on Carswell Avenue in Camp Springs.

Surveillance video they obtained showed Proctor and Paige entering Proctor’s apartment on April 13. Proctor is scene leaving early the next morning pushing the storage bin and dolly out the front lobby door, the charging documents said.

Paige was reported missing in late April, and her body has not been found. Proctor admitted to the crime during an interview with detectives on Friday.
