Man Pleads Guilty in Woman's Christmas Eve Slaying in 2014

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A second defendant faces a possible prison term after pleading guilty in the fatal shooting of a woman near Frederick on Christmas Eve 2014.

The Frederick News-Post (http://bit.ly/2g03Jtr ) reports that 22-year-old Curtis Evans of Hagerstown pleaded guilty Friday to accessory after the fact to first-degree murder in the slaying of 20-year-old Malicia Smith of Hagerstown.

He faces up to 10 years in prison at his sentencing Feb. 2 in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Twenty-one-year-old Neajee (nee-AH’-zhay) Terry is serving a 25-year sentence for murder conspiracy in the case.

Neither acknowledged pulling the trigger. Each told investigators that the other was the shooter.
