Heritage Brewing in Manassas Expanding

WASHINGTON — Four-year-old Heritage Brewing Co. in Manassas, Virginia, will invest $8.9 million to relocate and expand its brewing operations into a new, 35,000-square-foot facility.

The company said the move will allow it to triple production of its craft beers.

The veteran-owned microbrewery expects to add close to 70 new jobs as part of its expansion, more than doubling the number of current employees.

The new facility will be part of a new, mixed-use development in Manassas called The Landing at Cannon Branch, on Gateway Drive, which broke ground last fall. Heritage Brewing’s current brewing operations and tap room are on Center Point Lane.

It is the latest move for the fast-growing company.

In April, it opened Heritage Brewing Co. Market Common Brewpub & Roastery on N. Fillmore Street in Arlington, Virginia, with a menu that pairs its beers with coffee into the dishes. Heritage Brewing plans several other brewpub openings, including one in the new production facility.

“The City of Manassas is a beacon for small businesses and helped us to become the company we are today,” said Heritage Brewing Owner Sean Arroyo.

“We had a big dream and thanks to amazing partnerships we are excited to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to our community,” Arroyo said. “This will be a truly unique destination for the region.”

Heritage Brewing also focuses on training and hiring veterans. It donates a portion of its profits to families of fallen soldiers.

As part of its expansion, the company will get a $250,000 grant from the Virginia Governor’s Agricultural and Forestry Industries Development Fund. Manassas will match with local funds. It will also get funding and services through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
