Fredericksburg Police Seek Person of Interest After Fatal Shooting

WASHINGTON — Police in Fredericksburg are asking for the public’s help in finding a person of interest related to a fatal shooting that happened Saturday night.

Cortez Antonio Mills, 34, from Milford, Virginia, is a person of interest in the shooting that happened around 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Police say they responded to a call of shots fired in 300 block of Palmer Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a car that hit a pole. Officers discovered a woman with a fatal gunshot wound in the driver’s seat.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Antoinette Anne Beverly.

In a news release, police describe Mills as Beverly’s boyfriend.
