Former Teacher's Aide Indicted on 270 Counts in Sex-abuse Case

WASHINGTON — A grand jury has indicted former Prince George’s County teachers aide Deonte Carraway on 270 counts.

Carraway is facing state charges of child abuse, sex offense and child pornography after county prosecutors say he sexually abused students at Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School, on and off school property.

Charges specify that Carraway sexually assaulted more than a dozen children who ranged in age from 9 to 11, instructing them to perform sexual acts on him and on each other while video taping them on his phone.

Carraway is also facing federal charges. He remains in jail without bond.
