CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) — Officials in Chesterfield County say they put out an overnight fire at Monacan High School.

Fire officials said in a statement that they were called around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to the school as a result of the activation of a fire alarm. Officials said that fire crews found smoke in a hallway and located a smoldering fire in the ceiling that they extinguished.
