Driver Killed After Crash, Rollover During Police Pursuit

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police say one man was killed and another man injured when their car crashed in Leonardtown during a police pursuit.

The agency says in a news release that a trooper saw a car that failed to dim its headlights on Route 4 in St. Mary’s County early Tuesday.

Police say the trooper activated emergency equipment, but the driver sped up, driving 80 to 90 mph. Authorities say the driver lost control of the car, hit a street sign and a ditch and rolled over several times.

Troopers say the driver, 24-year-old Tabais Robinson, was ejected from the car and died at a hospital. The passenger in the car, 23-year-old Andre Gross, was treated and released. He is charged with possession of cocaine.
