The day after 40-year-old Stephanie Goodloe filed her third police report this month against her ex-boyfriend, police found her shot to death in her bed early Saturday morning.

Goodloe first went to file a police report against Donald Hairston, 49, on June 4 after he banged on the windows and doors of her home on Kentucky Avenue in Southeast, D.C. and she came out to find her car tires slashed, court documents show.

The two had recently broken up and he wanted to remain in touch with her 11-year-old daughter, the documents said.

Hairston, who appeared in court Monday was charged with first-degree murder and ordered held without bond. He was also told to stay away from Goodloe’s daughter, who documents say called 911 when she heard shots.
