CLARKSBURG, Md. (AP) – A 26-year-old aspiring Christian rapper has been convicted of second-degree murder for intentionally running over a friend during an argument about CDs.
Ryan Salandy was convicted Tuesday in Montgomery County Circuit Court in the hit-and-run death of William McDaniel.
Police say Salandy produced some of McDaniel’s music and the two were having a contractual dispute when Salandy intentionally ran over McDaniel and fled the scene. Police say a witness described Salandy’s car to investigators and Salandy’s mother called authorities and told them her son had been involved in a hit-and-run.
He faces up to 30 years in prison.
