BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police are reviewing the arrest of a West Point cadet who was struck in the face by a detective after she allegedly assaulted him.
The Baltimore Sun reports (http://bsun.md/2gMmUvX) 18-year-old cadet Natasha Chick attended a party Friday night at a Baltimore apartment. Chick said she hit her head and doesn’t remember much from that night — including if she was drinking.
Detective Aaron Cain responded to the apartment where the party was held for a report of a suicidal person. In a hallway of the apartment, he encountered Chick.
Police spokesman T.J. Smith says Chick appeared to be drunk and began kicking Cain in the chest. According to Cain’s written account, he then struck Chick in her chin with his hand.
Smith says the incident is under review.
Chick has been charged with second-degree assault of a police officer.
