BALTIMORE (AP) — Hours after being sworn in, the Baltimore City Council, in its first official act, voted unanimously to condemn statements made by President-elect Donald Trump, days before he is scheduled to visit the city.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Ryan Dorsey, a new council member, introduced the resolution Thursday. He said he wanted to affirm Baltimore’s values by opposing what he called Trump’s divisive rhetoric.
All 15 council members, who are all Democrats, voted to approve the measure.
Trump is scheduled to attend the Army-Navy game Saturday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium.
