WASHINGTON — Fire crews in Arlington are battling a transformer fire in a building on Clarendon Boulevard.
The Arlington County Fire Department says that a transformer caught fire in the basement of a building in the 2800 block of Clarendon Boulevard around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Shortly after 9 a.m., they said that they had dispatched a second alarm and firefighters on the scene were asking for an airport crash truck with dry-chemical capabilities.
Clarendon Boulevard is closed at Fillmore Street.
