The Arlington County police said in a statement that a man unlawfully entered the woman’s apartment in the 3900 block of 4th Street North and used the threat of a weapon to hold the woman while he sexually assaulted her.

The woman eventually managed to lock herself in a bathroom and yell for help, which caused the attacker to run away, the police said.

The man has been described by the victim and witnesses as Hispanic, between 25 and 35 years old, with dark hair and a fair complexion. The police have released a sketch based on the descriptions.
