MONETA, Va. (AP) — A child has been rescued from a lake in Virginia.
Local news outlets report the 3-year-old girl is in stable condition at a local hospital. She was pulled from Smith Mountain Lake after falling off a dock Monday afternoon.
The Moneta Volunteer Rescue Squad’s Facebook page says emergency units responded around 5 p.m. to the possible drowning at the Snug Harbor boat ramp. She had not been wearing a life jacket, but was awake and alert when rescued.
No other information about the incident was immediately available.
