2 Students Injured in School Bus Crash With Cement Truck

LEESBURG, Va. (AP) — Police say two students are being treated for minor injuries after a hit-and-run crash between a school bus and cement truck.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s office said the crash occurred Thursday about 7:30 a.m. on Evergreen Mills Road south of Leesburg.

The sheriff’s office says a red and white cement struck heading south on the road struck the northbound school bus and then fled the scene.

Fifty-four students from Sycolin Creek Elementary were on the bus, and two were treated for minor injuries. Another bus came and picked up the other students to get them to school.

Witnesses or anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office, which continues to investigate.
