WASHINGTON — There was no record set for the most expensive residential sale in 2016, and only one of the 10 most expensive sales topped eight figures.
The highest price paid for a residential property sold in the D.C. region in 2016 was $10.4 million, for a Georgian-style house at 3055 Whitehaven St. NW. The seven-bedroom home, built in 1930, was originally listed for $14.7 million, a 29 percent discount.
Seven of the 10 most expensive residential sales in 2016 were in the District.
