1 Firefighter Injured in Blaze at Annapolis Business

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Officials say one firefighter has been injured putting out a blaze at an Annapolis business.

Media outlets report that the fire broke out at the Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake building in the Eastport area early Monday. Fire crews found heavy smoke coming through the roof when they arrived.

Battalion Chief Aaron Boston said in a statement that firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the building, but a neighboring business has smoke damage. He says one firefighter was taken to a hospital with a minor injury.

Pirate Adventures offers pirate-themed tours for kids and families. The business ended its 14th season Sunday.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
