Dancy Pants

Hit up a hip-hop dance workshop taught by a finalist from MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew"

There are lots of things we want in life. Like to understand mortgage rates. An endless supply of coffee. A pet butterfly that flutters around us as we go about our day. And -- if we would have just one more wish -- it would be to not dance so badly that someone takes a cell-phone video of our pathetic moves to post on YouTube.

We know we can't have everything. But maybe there's a tiny bit of hope for the last thing on our list. Joesar Alva from The Boogie Bots is in from L.A. to teach a hip-hop dance workshop, tonight (Aug. 3) at the D.C. Dance Collective (4908 Wisconsin Ave. N.W) for a mere $10. The Boogie Bots, who originally formed in D.C., were finalists on Season 2 of MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew."

Joesar has also danced with Future Shock D.C., Culture Shock D.C. and Capital Funk. Catch him at tonight's workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. You can preview his class here to see exactly what we're all in for. And if we get on YouTube 'cause we're grooving that well, we'll do our best to think of some more unrealistic wishes.
