A CSX freight train hauling coal derailed in northeast Washington.
CSX officials say three cars of the 80-car train ran off the tracks near the intersection of 35th and East Capitol streets Friday night. They say it was backing into the Benning rail yard when it derailed.
The D.C. fire department says there were no hazardous materials spilled and that no one was injured.
Crews were working to place the derailed cars back on the tracks.
