- A nationwide bedbug outbreak has forced the feds to hold the first-ever bedbug summit. The blood-feeding critters have grown resistant to many pesticides and are now being reported in numbers not seen since WWII. The Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a two-day conference on the outbreak on the insects, which have infested college dorms, posh hotels and homeless shelters from New York to Washington.
- A trio of brothers has created the world's first life-sized replica of Noah's ark. The 450-foot long boat is built to biblical specifications and even has 67 pairs of fiberglass animals aboard. The ship, stationed off the coast of China, also has a rooftop luxury hotel.
- A baby girl was born 22 years after her father's sperm was frozen. The 38-year-old father of baby Stella froze his sperm when he was 16 after doctors told him the leukemia-struck teen he'd have to undergo radiotherapy that would make him sterile. The more than two-decade span between storage and conception is a world record.
- The New York car show is full of flashy rides, chrome rims and, apparently, hecklers. Product presenters at the auto show are dealing with more hostile crowds than in years past in the wake of the government bail out of big automakers -- many of which feature flashy new products at the show. "We get a lot of, 'You're going out of business,' 'You guys are going bankrupt,'" said one Chrysler presenter.
