  • Facebook has launched Arabic and Hebrew versions to try to appeal to its millions of users in the Middle East. Nearly 1 million people in Egypt and more than 250,000 in Saudi Arabia use the social networking site but have had to use the site in English until now.  Facebook is now offered in 40 languages.
     
  • Remember the McDonald's Hula Burger? Neither did we. Fortunately, someone has taken the time to remind us about the grilled pineapple-and-cheese concoction offered by Mickey D's that was originally meant to appeal to Catholics who abtained from eating meat on Fridays. It wasn't there for long. Though the fast-food giant is doing well despite the recession with the bankable Big Mac and venerable Dollar Menu, take a look at some of the failed items from the restaurant chain that were huge McFlops with consumers throughout the years.
     
  • Researchers have found three areas in the brain they believe controls religious belief. Among the 40 participants in the study were Christians, Muslims, Jews and Buddhists all of whom had the same area of their brains light up when they were asked to think about religious or moral problems. The 'God spot' appeared in regions of the brain that were used daily to interpret and intentions of others.

  • In this day in 1986, the NFL decided to use instant replay when reviewing disputed calls. The technology was so bad and unhelpful, however, that the NFL decided to do away with it in 1992. The technology was brought back in '99 and along with it the new rule that coaches were allowed to challenge officials' calls.
