Correction: 10-Year-Old Girl Killed, 3 Injured in Northeast DC Shooting: Police

A 10-year-old girl was killed and three adults were hurt in a shooting in Northeast D.C., police say.

Police are searching for a black Infinity SUV with paper tags in connection with the shooting.

The girl, two men and a woman were hit when gunfire erupted on the 300 block of 53rd Street NE about 8 p.m., police say.

Police responded and reported that the girl was unconscious and not breathing, according to police.

Police say the three adults shot were conscious and breathing.

The shooting occurred on a residential block near Marvin Gaye Park and the KIPP DC Quest Academy Public Charter School.

Mayor Muriel Bowser left festivities at Nationals Park and was spotted at the scene. She's expected to address the city on the tragedy.

Sources initially told News4 that the girl was 9 years old.

At least five people were injured in shootings around D.C. Monday night.

An adult was shot on the 1500 block of Butler Street Southeast. The victim was conscious and breathing.
