Chicago Police Arrest William Balfour Over Hudson Family Murders

William Balfour has been arrested for the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s relatives, Chicago police confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Balfour, 27, has been in police custody since October 24, the same day the bodies of Jennifer’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were discovered in the family home.

The body of Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was discovered two days later.
Balfour was being held on a parole violation at the Statesville Correctional center, but was handed off to the custody of Chicago police after they secured an arrest warrant, according to the Chicago Tribune, which first reported the story. Balfour was arrested on Monday.

According to a Chicago police spokesperson, Balfour has been released to detectives and is awaiting formal charges.

Balfour, King’s stepfather, and the ex of Jennifer’s sister Julia, was previously described as a person of interest in the investigation.
