A Very Cherry (Blossom) Cooking Class

The ridiculous line for beer at Nats Park. The annoying tourists getting in your way. Cherry blossoms coming into bloom. Ahhh, spring in the District.

And TenPenh (1001 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.) is getting into the act with a Cherry Blossom cooking class, offered on the first day of the Cherry Blossom Festival this Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. TenPenh's Executive Chef Cliff Wharton will be serving up demos and instruction -- along with recipes to his fabulous dishes.

Learn how to prepare the items featured on his Cherry Blossom Tasting Menu, which includes pan-seared scallops, Hudson Valley foie gras, and sea bass with cherry chutney. Oh... and there just happens to be a warm chocolate-chip cookie bar... with cherry-vanilla ice cream and warm ginger cherries. 

The class is $75 per person, but that includes wine and sake pairings, which totally makes the expense worthwhile... if you ask us, anyway. Email jillian@passionfoodhospitality.com for reservations.
