We've got the skinny on what to do this weekend and what to wear while you're doing it.
D.C. FASHION WEEK
Do: Venue hop from fashion show to fashion show to launch party this Friday night. Start at Carbon's eco-chic benefit runway, then head over to the official D.C. Fashion Week event at the Alex Gallery, and finish your night at Rue 14's Nudie Jeans Co. launch party.
Wear: One of the biggest joys of Fashion Week, as far as we're concerned, is wearing all your most fabulous and over-the-top clothes. There's no better time to bring out saturated color palettes, fresh silhouettes, and daring prints. Take this opportunity to give cartoon-chic platforms a whirl; pair with bright monochrome separates to keep the look sleek. American Apparel skirt, $42, and top, $32; Jeffrey Campbell shoes, $159.95, at Nordstrom.
When: D.C. Fashion Week events are all weekend long; get the full schedule here. On Friday, Carbon's eco-chic runway goes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the D.C. Fashion Week show begins at 7 p.m., and Rue 14's launch party is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Both Carbon and Rue 14 will be hosting their events; the D.C. Fashion Week show is at Alex Gallery.
How Much: The whole evening is free, though Carbon is suggesting a $10 to $20 donation to go toward The Ocean Foundation.
