Bargain Time: DC Homes Go to Auction

D.C.'s Department of Housing and Community Development, along with Mayor Adrian Fenty, announced today that an auction of District-owned "nuisance properties" will take place tomorrow, DCmud reported.

31 D.C. properties will hit the auction block, all of which were acquired through eminent domain, foreclosure or "friendly" sale.

Funds raised from the auction will benefit D.C.'s affordable housing fund and, if successful, another round of sales open to the public could occur in the near future, according to DCmud.

The auction will be held Friday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m., 441 Fourth Street, NW.
