FRIDAY
Shred Air: The Sollid Metal Air Guitar Contest goes down tonight at Solly's, where contestants will have 120 seconds to show off their best imaginary licks. Disco Great: At the end of each work week, dance-music lovers flock to U Street Music Hall for Red Fridays, the club's ongoing house night. SATURDAY
Obrigado, Brazil: Celebrate the warm weather with the Brazilian Bash at Artisphere, a mixed-media event comprising dance, live music and film. Hell on Wheels: Don't fret if you've missed the last couple D.C. Rollergirls matches: Saturday is the big one. That's when the D.C. DemonCats will face off against Scare Force One for the season five championship at the D.C. Armory. As the flyer asks, which side will you fight for? $12; $6 for children 6 - 11, free for kids under 6. 3 p.m.
SUNDAY
Books and Beer: Hang with local authors like Top Cheffer Spike Mendelsohn (he's got a cookbook) and the Washington Post's Gene Weingarten at the Literary Hill BookFest at Eastern Market. Buy a book at the event and get a pint of Hawk Ale at the nearby Hawk 'N Dove for $2. Free; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every Friday by peeping Play's Weekend Bender.
