Café Dupont and Bar Dupont (1500 New Hampshire Ave. N.W.) host a full day of Halloween fun -- including (obviously) appropriately Bloody Marys. Sunday brunch (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) kicks things off, but stick around for a pumpkin carving contest (2:25 p.m.) for the chance to win a Café Dupont gift certificate. You'll have 30 minutes to carve, with pumpkins and tools will be provided by the venue.
Grownups in costume will receive one free drink (including Halloween-themed specialty drinks) and happy hour pricing all day.
An outside grill will serve up warm goodies, plus free hot cider on the sidewalk for trick-or-treaters at sundown. If you're not just passing through, consider a three-course prix-fixe dinner menu ($35). Hey, you've got to coat your stomach with something before the night's real festivities begin, right?
