Dar be Dar comes from local designer Tala Raassi, who once received 40 lashes in her native Iran for daring to wear a miniskirt. In 2010, she designed the official swimwear for the 2010 Miss Universe pageant, including the suit pictured above. (Read more about her here.)

Raffle offerings abounded, including prizes like gift certificates from Renu Med Spa of Chevy Chase and a $900 dental package from Washington Dental Center. Ten percent of swimsuit sales and 100 percent of door donations and raffle ticket sales went to the Washington Humane Society.

The fashion show was one of the last events before the big runway event -- Fashion for Paws -- this Saturday, April 9, to benefit the Washington Humane Society.
