For those who enjoy a great martini, the Corcoran Gallery's 1869 Society's annual Artini month is a much-anticipated event. Sponsored by Washingtonian, Artini is a month-long celebration during which mixologists compete to make the most artistic (and/or delicious) martini.
Throughout the month, participating venues showcase their martinis on specific dates. This year the list includes:
- March 8: Sei
- March 9: Farmers and Fishers
- March 10: Mie N Yu
- March 13: Founding Farmers
- March 15: Tabard Inn
- March 16: PS7
- March 22: Cafe Atlantico
- March 23: Potenza
- March 24: Art & Soul
- March 29: Againn
- March 30: Gibson
The month of Artinis culminates, appropriately enough, on March 31. Washington's favorite artini will be announced at the celebratory event with a tasting of all the artinis, a beer and wine bar, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, music and dancing at the Corcoran.
Tickets for the Artini gala are $95 for 1869 Society members and $115 for non-members. VIP tix are available at $130 for members and $150 for non-members. Proceeds benefit ArtReach, the Corcora's arts education program.
Order your tickets early since the event usually sells out.
