The Queen of Soul Preparing Special Tribute for King. Aretha Franklin is set to sing gospel hymn "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" at the dedication of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall later this month. The song selection is a special one for Franklin, as the hymn was a favorite of King's, and one he often requested her to sing during the early days of the civil rights movement. There's probably nothing that will or could upstage this extraordinary tribute, except for maybe that extraordinary hat.
