“A Space Odyssey” at Crystal Screen

Final Frontier: Tonight is your final chance this summer to catch a flick under the stars in Crystal City, and the Crystal Screen movie series closes out with Stanley Kubrick's epic science fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. Free; 8 p.m.

All-City Party: The tireless party starters at Brightest Young Things take over the Black Cat's Red Room tonight for their All-City Happy Hour, which will feature drink specials, door prizes, and solid tunes selected by BYT staffers. Free; 8 p.m.

Local Lo-Fi: Jeff the Brotherhood are a rowdy garage-rock act from Nashville, and tonight they'll headline DC9 with support from locals Foul Swoops, the lo-fi indie act known for a tuneful take on Pavement-style pop. Tickets $12; 8:30 p.m.
