Emphasizing a wide range of art including film, photography, dance and more, the nonprofit festival showcases unsigned, up-and-coming artists. The festival includes a battle of the bands. 7 p.m.; free.
MARYLAND TURNS 375: The River Concert Series season opener helps celebrate Maryland's birthday with the premiere of "Terrae Mariae: A Creation Story." The new symphonic work by composer Nathan Lincoln-DeCusatis tells of the arrival of the English colonists in Maryland. Featuring the Chesapeake Orchestra, the concert will include music of the 1600s as well as Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, "The New World." It's happening at St. Mary's College of Maryland (16800 Point Lookout Road, Saint Marys City, Md.) 7 p.m.; free.
