3 Firefighters, 1 Resident Injured in NE DC House Fire

Firefighters in D.C. spent hours battling a house fire that sent three firefighters and one resident to the hospital. 

The fire started just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of 12th Street NE. Video from the scene shows flames shooting out of the roof of the home. 

The firefighters were taken to the hospital and later released. Officials say the resident who was injured remains hospitalized. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

The block will be closed to traffic through the Thursday morning rush, the fire department says.
