The NFL announced the rosters for the 2013 Pro Bowl -- you know, that all-star game in Hawaii that people don't really care about, but care just enough to want to know who is on the roster, which is why I'm writing this post -- Wednesday, and Robert Griffin III headlined the list of three Redskins who earned a spot on the NFC roster. He is joined by offensive tackle Trent Williams and linebacker/special teamer Lorenzo Alexander.
Griffin, who finished sixth overall in fan voting with over 683,000 votes, obviously earned his first Pro Bowl selection (he is a rookie, after all, and just the second rookie quarterback in NFL history to be named to the original Pro Bowl roster, joining Dan Marino). His résumé speaks for itself: 3,100 passing yards, 752 rushing yards, 26 total touchdowns and playing an integral role in increasing Washington's win total by four wins from last year (as of now; it could be five after Sunday). Griffin and Atlanta's Matt Ryan will back up Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, who will start for the NFC.
Williams and Alexander, like Griffin, also made the Pro Bowl for the first time. Williams has started all 15 games for Washington so far this season, while Alexander, the Redskins' special teams captain, has 43 total tackles (32 solo).
Linebacker London Fletcher and running back Alfred Morris were named alternates.
