Power Restored in Northwest DC

Tripped feeder causes power outage

A power outage in northwest Washington affected more than 1,800 homes and traffic lights at nine intersections Wednesday morning.

The outage began shortly before 10 a.m. and was caused by a tripped feeder, said Pepco spokesman Andre Francis.

Traffic lights at nine intersections on 9th, 10th and 11th streets were without power. The D.C. Department of Transportation placed stop signs at the intersections and deployed officers to direct traffic.

Power was restored at about noon.
