10/7: Curbside Cookoff

Plus, a night at Kreeger Museum and a Rock 2 Stop Diabetes

EAT YOUR STREET-HEART OUT: What happens when you combine DC’s 20 most popular street vendors with dance performances and art created on the scene? You get a best block-busting block party all around, via the first annual Curbside Cookoff (New  York Avenue N.W. at 9th Street). Trucks include Fojol Bros., D.C. Slices, Curbside Cupcakes and Red Hook Lobster. Be sure to go on an empty stomach! 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; free admission.

NOT-SO-MEAGER KREEGER: The Kreeger Museum (2401 Foxhall Road N.W.) proves it can do nightlife justice, too, with their After Hours event. Take a tour through the museum’s art collection, grab a drink at the open bar and dance to French DJ Hervé. Shuttle transportation included. 6-10 p.m.; $17-$25.

IT ROCKS:  Fado Irish Pub (808 7th St. N.W.) has the right idea: combining drinks, live rock, and prizes with a noble cause. Join them for their Rock 2 Stop Diabetes events, where you can enter to win restaurant certificates, jewelry and even Redskins tickets! 8-10 p.m.; $20 suggested donation.
