Just in Time for Summer: Virgin America Puts Alaska On Sale

There's a new and cheaper way to escape D.C.'s sweltering summer: Luxe airline Virgin America is offering a fare sale for trips to Anchorage, Alaska.

The airline has just launched new seasonal service to Anchorage, and is offering flights from Washington starting at $299. The deal requires people to book by June 7 and fly between June 9 and July 10.

That's a steep discount off a similar route offered by other carriers.

A trip to Alaska gives people opportunities to experience Mother Nature at it’s finest, whether it’s stepping foot on a glacier, hiking the vast number of trails, or fishing for king salmon.

And then there's the trip itself, on an airline that was most recently voted “Best Airline” by Consumer Reports Magazine. Each Virgin America aircraft offers special amenities such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets, and personal touchscreen entertainment.

Travelers can book a flight online here.
