Summer is rapidly coming to a close, and chances are you spent more time at the office than out indulging in your favorite foods and drinks. There’s still time to take in the gourmet flavors of the season, however. The Epicurience festival, which takes place Labor Day Weekend at Morven Park Estate, is your chance for one last taste of summer.
Loudoun Virginia is widely respected as one of the East Coast’s premier regions for wine, and the Epicurience Festival captures the county’s flavors in both drink and farm-to-table cuisine. The equestrian ranches and farms dotting the misty Blue Ridge Mountains have invited culinary insiders from the greater Washington D.C. area for decades. But the Epicurience Festival curates the best flavors of the region into one spot, just a short drive from the metro area.
The festival will also provide behind-the-scenes views of the area’s distilleries and wineries; a chance to learn cooking tips from celebrity chefs; book signings and conversation opportunities with the personalities who are shaping D.C.-area food and wine; and access to the area’s luxury spas and resorts.
The three-day festival kicks off Friday, August 30 with a gourmet vineyard dinner at 8 Chains North Winery, followed by a twilight tour led by winemaker Ben Renshaw, as well as the grand opening event at the New Salamander Resort & Spa.
The weekend’s main event, on Saturday, August 31, is the Grand Tasting, a day-long showcase of the region’s top wines, chefs and locally sourced gourmets, complete with live bands. At the Whole Foods demonstration tent, chef Kazuhiro Okochi of KAZ Sushi Bistro and Chef Roberto Donna of Al Dente Ristorante, among other celebrity chefs, will demonstrate their kitchen prowess.
Tickets for the weekend are still available here, both for general admission and VIP experiences, although VIP tickets are going fast. Visit to buy your tickets today.
