Spend a Night in a Historical C&O Canal Lockhouse

Fans of living history take note: Historical lockhouses are now available for rental along the C&O Canal.

As part of the Canal Quarters program, six lockhouses, each more than 170 years old, have been rehabilitated and furnished to reflect particular periods in history. Eras include the 1830s, the Civil War, the turn of the 19th century, the New Deal and the 1950s.

The houses are located at various points along the C&O Canal's route, between Williamsport and Washington, D.C.
