Attendees enjoyed music, food trucks, cold beer, dog contests, and of course, the chihuahua races.
The Running of the Chihuahuas took place by SW Waterfront, DC, between 6th and 7th Streets close to Waterfront Metro on the green line.

The race is D.C.'s funniest Cinco de Mayo celebration -- but it's also a benefit event for Rural Dog Rescue.

Red Hook Lobster Truck, Sol Mexican Food and Captain Cookie food trucks were on hand. Live music came from Hand Painted Swinger.

Scooter, a paralyzed chihuahua, raced during the event with help from some wheels.
There was an all-breed contest including best dressed, best trick and more.
