Spring isn't just pretty -- it's also yummy. With cherry blossom-inspired food and drink specials, plus plenty of sweet treats, the D.C. area is ready to celebrate the season.

District Doughnut
For a floral-themed sweet treat, District Doughnut is bringing back its Cherry Blossom doughnut. The doughnuts are made with cream cheese, cherry pie filling and pie crumble crust. They're available until the end of April for $4.50 at the two D.C. locations and online for <a href="" target=blank>preorder</a>.
Old Town Dolci Gelati
In Old Town Alexandria, you can get a taste of spring via cherry blossom gelato at <a href="" target=blank>Dolci Gelati</a>. The treat is billed as a "light, floral flavor that's perfect for springtime."
This K Street Thai restaurant has a special <a href="" target=blank>cherry-inspired menu</a> that will be available for lunch and dinner until April 15. The list includes a cherry blossom fizz cocktail, duck pot stickers with sour cherry, soy-glazed salmon and cherry green tea cake. Visitors can get all three courses for $25 at lunch and $35 at dinner, with a $10 added charge to include the cocktail.
MGM National Harbor
<a href="" target=blank>Blossom Cocktail Lounge</a> at MGM National Harbor pays homage to the cherry blossoms. For this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival, the bar is serving Nellie Blossom drinks, a combination of vodka, cherry blossom tea, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, syrup and a hint of champagne.

At the 24-hour <a href="" target=blank>FELT Bar and Lounge</a> at MGM National Harbor, patrons can watch bartenders whip up specialty drinks as part of the spot's table-side mixology program. Included in the list of seasonal cocktails is the Cherry Bomb, a festival-inspired drink with Effen Black Cherry Vodka, lemon juice, Giffard Orgeat, housemade pomegranate vanilla cordial, lime bitters and sparkling rose.

Angry Orchard
If you’re looking for something to do on your own at home, the Angry Orchard cocktail is being promoted as "the perfect way to celebrate the floral event, as well as the beginning of spring." Recipe: Mix 5 oz. Angry Orchard rose cider, 1 oz. brandy, 0.75 oz. lemon, 0.5 oz. simple syrup and 1 tsp. cherry preserves for the seasonal drink.

Prosecco and sorbet come together for a satisfying boozy float. Available at Alta Vista's D.C. and Merrifield, Virginia locations through April 15, this drink costs $10.

Head to Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken on G Street downtown or in Falls Church if this blooming doughnut makes you salivate. The treat is filled with tart cherry filling, covered in a cream cheese glaze and decorated with buttercream icing. It'll set you back $3.75.

The treat has a white chocolate cherry cheesecake glaze and is rimmed with graham cracker crumbs. Not into doughnuts? Sugar Shack is also offering cherry fritters during April.
Bakery Fare Well's seasonal cake boasts three layers of pastry with icing and fruit filling, smothered in icing and is (of course) topped with a cherry.
