    Attention, Wawa lovers!

The wildly popular Philadelphia-based convenience store is coming to Tenleytown, John Filipos, an attorney who represents Wawa, said.

Wawa's newest location in the District is set to take over a 7,000 square foot vacant storefront that was previously home to a Sears appliance showroom and a dental office space, Filipos said. The store will be more neighborhood-centric.

Filipos said the location will draw a different crowd than the company's first D.C. location in DuPont Circle, near K Street.

The DuPont Circle store is the largest Wawa in the country with bar seating, an outdoor patio and free Wi-fi, plus its signature hoagies, of course. It caters to a flood of customers during the work week in the downtown business district, he said.

"What drew them to [the Tenleytown] location was the Metro," Filipos said.

The spot is a few minutes from the Tenleytown Metro station on the Red Line, as well as numerous Metrobus stops and the American University shuttle bus.

Filipos said the fact the store is open 24/7 will attract American University students and high school students from Woodrow Wilson High School, which is located about a block from the metro station.

The location will also benefit from Tenleytown's small shopping district, "anchored by Whole Foods, CVS and Best Buy," he said.

The news comes after Wawa announced it will open a second D.C. store at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Prospect Street NW by the end of 2018.

The Tenleytown store is set to open sometime late this year or in early 2019. It will be located on 40th St. NW. Wawa's first D.C. location opened its doors in mid-December.
